Castillo Family
This is a tree of life candelabra made by a member of the Castillo family from Izucar de Matamoros, Mexico. Beginning in the1960's, the Castillo Orta family created a new style for the ceramic tree of life based on the decoration of the clay pieces with fine lines that almost look like filigree and introduced new themes as the Day of the Dead. This tree, made in glazed ceramic,is decorated with flowers, owls perched on the arms of the candelabra, and hanging clay balls.
