This is a tin mask from Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico. Taxco is known for its art made from metals, mostly tin, copper and brass. The tinsmiths of Taxco use a variety of techniques such as stamping and engraving to create the design and decoration of the masks. This mask was made for the tourist trade but shows the craftmanship of the artist.
