Description

This is a decorative gemstone mask probably of Brazilian origin. The mask has a carved and polished face made from the porongo gourd and natural clay. The top of the mask is decorated with quartz and other colorful minerals. Connected to the ears of the mask are earrings that have another carved wood face and quartz dangling from a chain. The mask has a central quartz piece on its forehead meant to symbolize the "third eye" of wisdom. The other gemstones attached to the mask are also thought to possess meta-physical powers of their own.
