Description

Hand painted and carved, this wooden angel has blue wings and dress and holds a book with inscriptions. Made by Oaxacan wood carver Gabino Reyes, the angel's book has inscriptions reading, "Dios es amor" (God is Love) and "Mi libro de la sabiduria"(My Book of Wisdom). This angel is similar to other angels by Reyes in the Shirk Collection that have outstretched arms and hold an object.
