Individually placed, hand carved, and acrylic painted ocean figures line the base. One male mermaid is holding a pitch fork (Tridant) and wearing a crown representing the ocean king. The other mermaid is holding a hand carved fish with tail up. Each fish is a replica of one that might be found in the oceans around Mexico. Mermaids are famous and still believed in in Oaxaca, Mexico.
