Hand carved from walrus bone, this bone doll was made by a Yupik artist from Alaska. The face of the doll has been carved with its with mouth, eyes, eyebrows and the nose etched in black. The bottom of the doll has pant legs and shoes attached, possibly made out of caribou fur and leather. The doll has a detachable parka that is possibly made out of caribou and / or beaver fur. The doll is signed “Iyatunguk’s” on its back.
