This is a Guatemalan Huipil from Chichicastenango, a town in the Guatemalan highlands, northwest of Guatemala City. It’s known for its open-air craft market and indigenous Maya culture. This three panel huipil features vibrant flower designs on both its sides. The huipil was likely hand woven on a backstrap loom. The collar is accented with the classic radiating sun in red and black that is traditional for Chichicastenango huipils.
