This cinta or hand-woven hair sash was woven on a back-strap loom in Zunil, a town in the Quetzaltenango department of Guatemala and on the bank of the Salamá River. The cinta has repeating multicolored woven designs, a solid green center portion and pink and green pom pom and tassels at either end. Women wear this style of cinta in their hair as part of their outfit.
