This is a Bedouin kilim rug purchased in Siwa Oasis in the west of Egypt in 2016. Handloomed from naturally dyed Sheep and Camel wool, traditional Bedouin rugs are produced using a special know how, a method of weaving passed from mother to daughter for generations but kept secret from outsiders The weaving is done on looms on the ground.
