In western India, nomadic Rabari women wear decorative head cushions to protect their heads and to help balance jugs of water. Rabari embroidery is characterized by its bright colors, delicate stitches, and use of mirrors that are believed to trap the evil eye. This cushion has a web of threads and cowrie shells attached to it that hang down from the cushion.
