This is a small drum and mallet by the Tarahumara people (also known as Rarámuri) from the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. The Tarahumara primarily live in the high sierras and canyons of Chihuahua, such as the Copper Canyon in the Sierra Madre Occidental range. Most still practice a traditional lifestyle that includes subsistence farming, hunting and living in natural shelters.
