Robert Rivera
One of the most prominent gourd artists in the United States, Robert Rivera transforms the lowly gourd into an object of beauty, power and symbolism. Rivera draws inspiration from the arts of the Puebloans to create his own unique pieces –especially the Anasazi, Hohokam and Mimbres bird and animal designs which he incorporates into his gourd pots and rattles. Between etching, dying, stitching, and more, Rivera’s gourds are always one-of-a-kind.
