Two wood carved painted lizards. A smaller lizard stands on the back of a larger lizard, which has one leg raised. These lizards are an example of "alebrije", which is a whimsical carving depicting animals, people, objects, and imaginary creatures painted with intense colors and intricate patterns. Alebrijes are a craft tradition of Oaxaca, Mexico.
